Only One Way To Love

John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God wants His live-giving love to enter us and bless us. And then He wants it to flow through us to others and bless them. The only source of this kind of life-giving love is God Himself. We must have Him living in us if His love is to flow freely into us and out of us.

1 John 4:8: He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

The only way to have the love of God flowing into us and through us is to receive Jesus into our hearts.

John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Ephesians 3:17: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

2 John 1:9: Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

Romans 5:5: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Galatians 5:22a: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, . . .

John 7:38: He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

1 Thessalonians 5:19: Quench not the Spirit.

John 11:35: Jesus wept.

Soon after I received Jesus I was surprised and shocked when I would shed tears over the unmet needs of friends, family and sometimes even total strangers. Then I would ask the Lord to meet those needs and, even more surprisingly, whenever possible meet them myself. Before I received Jesus I could only shed tears over my own losses and disappointments. If you do not shed tears for others, either you have not received Jesus or you are quenching the Spirit and quenching the love of God.
